Staff Code of Conduct

Springcroft Primary School

Staff Code of Conduct

Clear standards of behaviour for everyone who works at Springcroft, so every child can rely on a safe, consistent, trusted school community.

"Leaders are ambitious for the school community. They have created a kind, caring culture, and have a firm belief that all pupils can achieve their best. These values and aims are at the heart of every decision they make."

Ofsted, November 2022

School staff are in a unique position of influence, and are expected to model the highest possible standards for every pupil. As a member of our school community, each employee has an individual responsibility to maintain their own reputation and that of the school, whether inside or outside working hours.

Our aims underpin this: a happy, friendly, secure and well-disciplined atmosphere, and caring, respectful, trusting relationships between all children and adults. Failure to adhere to our Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal.

What underpins our Code of Conduct

Teachers' Standards 2012

All staff employed under Teachers' Terms and Conditions have a statutory obligation to adhere to the Teachers' Standards — and, in relation to this policy, Part 2: Personal and Professional Conduct.

Guidance for Safer Working Practice

Our Code of Conduct is informed by the Safer Recruitment Consortium's national guidance on safe, appropriate behaviour for adults working with children.
