Personal development is a strength of the school. Pupils, staff and parents can access well-being support through the school’s bespoke ‘Helping our pupils’ emotion’ (HOPE) project. All pupils have opportunities to develop their interests and talents through activities such as school clubs and musical instrumental lessons. – Ofsted, November 2022

Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education (PSHE)

Through our PSHE Curriculum here at Springcroft Primary School we intend to build confident, resilient children who are emotionally aware of themselves and others and can make a positive contribution to the school and the wider community and later, as adults, to the world. 

Alongside promoting our school vision and values we use the Jigsaw Scheme of Work to cover all aspects of the PSHE curriculum from Reception to Year 6. This scheme also includes ‘Relationships Education, Relationships and Sex Educations and Heath Education’.  This scheme of work supports our children in the transition from dependent to independent children who can think for themselves, understand different relationships and understand their rights and responsibilities.

Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural development.

Children at Springcroft are also encouraged to develop their Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural awareness through PSHE and all curriculum areas.  All PSHE lessons offer opportunities for children to develop their Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) awareness.  Alongside this many whole school activities and events are planned during the school year which further promote SMSC.
