Year 2
Welcome to Year 2! This is an important and exciting year in your child's primary journey, as they grow into increasingly confident readers, writers and mathematicians. In Year 2, we build on prior learning whilst introducing new challenges that stretch and inspire every child to achieve their very best.
We offer a rich and varied learning experience that spans all areas of the curriculum — from science and history to art, music and PE — ensuring that every child finds something that excites and motivates them. The DfE has published a leaflet that parents may find useful - Optional key stage 1 national curriculum tests. This makes clear that these tests are not mandatory and that: “If your child takes the optional end of KS1 tests, their school will decide if and how to share the results.”
